Heartbreak

Founded on the set of telenovela / daytime TV soap opera ‘Amore Sacrezza’ in Buenos Aries, (Sebastian Muravchik in a starring role, Ali Renault on glamorous sound engineering work placement), Heartbreak moved to London in 2006 and began writing their debut album, born of a mutual love of synthesizers, classic italo disco from the early 1980s… and black metal. A new sound was born, branded ‘Metalo’ by UK press and encapsulated in their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Lies’ (2008). Since then, Heartbreak have played most major festivals worldwide, toured the US and Europe and followed up with a digital-only EP ‘Deceit‘ (2009) including remixes by The Horrors, Swedish techno maestro Luke Eargoggle and French electro superstar Vitalic.

Heartbreak have themselves remixed La Roux, The Presets, Little Boots, Bloc Party, Neon Neon, Kelis and Simian Mobile Disco They also covered David Bowie’s ‘Loving The Alien’ for tribute compilation Life Beyond Mars and were invited to create a mix for haute-electronic music website Resident Advisor.

Sebastian has also been working with Richard X, while Ali’s solo projects under pseudonyms such as Cestrian have been championed by 2 Many DJs and the Intergalactic FM fraternity. Ali is also a founding member of internet radio station Magic Waves. More music from the band pencilled for 2011.
